Digital marketing is the use of today’s “internet connected devices” to engage, convey and promote ideas, product and services in a dynamic, convenient and personalized approach.
There are two main approaches to digital marketing. “Pull” and “Push”, each with it’s own benefits and pitfalls. Determining the best approach can be the difference between a successful campaign or one deemed as SPAM.Push
These campaigns deliver information in many ways, often without the need for consent that often lead to the label of SPAM. Push technology can send out updated information as it happens ensuring that your message, content or product information is always accurate. In a controlled push environment where consent has been given and audience profiles are available, updates specific to consumer demographics or a targeted audience can be pushed. This is by far the best approach top take but the costs increase.Pull
These campaigns require the audience to seek out information and to pull the information or consent to receive the information via a website, email or text message. Ensuring the content is relevant and search engine optimized is imperative in order to ensure the information is easily located and retrieved. The costs are lower, but so are the rewards. How do you decide what to do?
Let our team at HIPSKIP help you make the right decisions. Turning your ideas into an online success is what we do. Through years of successful campaigns, we have grown with technology, grown with our client’s requirements and grown into the successful, innovative team we are today.DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT (DAM)
Keeping the files you need at your fingertips
Digital asset management consists of management tasks and decisions surrounding the ingestion, annotation, cataloguing, storage, retrieval and distribution of digital assets. Digital photographs, animations, videos and music exemplify the target-areas of media asset management This is the definition as seen on Wikipedia, and does indeed encapsulate the fundamentals of digital asset management, but what does that me to you and me? Business has changed. The days where a simple marketing piece was mailed out to the ether in the hopes that the 2% ROI would make the campaign a success are behind us. Media is king, and the ability to delivery timely messages in the many formats of today’s Internet is key. So how do we manage the ever-growing demands for media in it’s many guises? Enter the Digital Asset Management System. There are generally three broad categories of digital asset management systems.1. Brand Asset Management
These focus more on the frequently used content largely related to sales or marketing campaigns. Consisting of company logos, product information and imagery and marketing collateral, these systems help appropriate assets while helping to maintain a consistent message.2. Library Asset Management
These systems are used more for archival purposes. For want of a better term, they act as a search engine, allowing for rapid retrieval of associated files.3. Production Asset Management
These systems aid in the production and deign process. They can often include workflow and project management components. Used predominantly within the video and film industry, these systems can easily be adapted to any market. At HIPSKIP we approach this in a different way. We understand that not all business fall into a neat category and often require parts of each solution. That is exactly what we have done. Although we can and have delivered more traditional digital asset management systems by request, we pride ourselves on thinking outside the box and anticipating what our clients will need tomorrow. What emerged was our latest digital asset management system of DAM 2.0. With the ability to add Meta information to any file. The custom PDF module that retrieves all text based content from a PDF and makes it fully searchable. The ability to store long-term ALL media while working within a collaborative environment offers the best of all three approaches. Couple this with user access levels, custom collections and public archival download, DAM 2.0 will not only help to streamline your design and management process but could also be used to manage and populate online content.EBLAST & MARKETING
Sample details field from here
E-mail marketing is a form of direct marketing, which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fund-raising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, each e-mail sent to a potential or current customer could be considered e-mail marketing.
Are email campaigns a thing of the past?
Traditional campaigns that focus primarily on email advertising are slowly moving aside for other forms of eMarketing. This refers more to the blanket campaigns with rented lists as opposed to focused email campaigns derived from internal client and customer lists.
But I still want an email campaign, what should I do?
The most important thing you need is the list, your target audience. You can have the best message in the world but if it does not reach the people who want to read it, then it simply becomes SPAM. We cannot empathise enough the importance of a clean list, preferably one you maintain yourself. If you are renting a list, ensure it is from a reputable supplier.
But I don’t have a list.
Don’t worry about it. Here at 247 we have helped many clients generate and maintain their own lists. We can and have interacted with the source providers to ensure all the information provided is relevant and accurate for YOUR particular needs.
Now I have my list, what now?
Given that so many potential clients will first see this message on a handheld device, think about the message and how you can get it across in the first few lines of the email. This will ensure the rest of the message will be read and not relegated to the deleted folder.
At HIPSKIP we pride ourselves on our authoring staff. Share with us your ideas and visions and we will transform them into a successful email message and campaign.
What other forms of eMarketing can I do?
We are glad you asked. It is an exciting time with the emergence of the Social Networks. Traditional advertsing campaigns can now be enhanced with the addition of SMS text messaging, Twitter and Facebook posts.
How large is the target audience we hear you ask
Let’s take a look at facebook for business in particular.
FrioLay set a record with over 1.5 million Facebook likes in 1 day. If we take into consideration that only a small percentage actually like an article or post the actual number of views could be over 10 million.
6% of consumers said that they are more likely to recommend a brand after they had “liked” them on Facebook. To give you an idea of what that could mean. There are over 800 million accounts on Facebook and over 50% of them log on every day.
Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, the all offer similar statistics. Let HIPSKIP help you create the right message, get it to your targeted audience and the sky rally is the limit.

Web-to-print, also known as Web2Print or remote publishing is a commercial prepress process that bridges the gap between digital content online and commercial print production.
This process allows a print house, a client, and possibly a graphic designer to create, edit, and approve computer-based online templates during the prepress phase. This process increasingly calls for a Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow environment with output provided by digital printing; although there is certainly no requirement that fulfillment be accomplished using digital production equipment; Web-to-print is also used today by printers with both offset and digital production facilities. Web-to-print is targeted toward commercial users or to the general public, and both groups may access public or private online storefronts or catalogues offered by print houses. Within these storefronts, customers can choose pre-designed templates where they can alter the typeface, copy, images, and layout within a template, or approve a template layout and design that has been created by another person. While most Web-to-print applications allow clients to customize pre-designed templates it also frequently possible for clients to upload their own unique content for automated print production. When a digital press is used for the final output, the template usually is transformed into a PDF file that serves as the master plate for the digital press. In more traditional printing processes, like offset printing, the template is used to create a plate or plates that are used to produce the final printed product. Materials produced by a Web-to-print process include business cards, brochures, and stationery, among other printed matter, that can be printed in full color or in black and white on various papers and on various presses. Web-to-print systems are also expanding to handle personalization and distribution of other marketing materials such as presentations, seminars, logo items, and even email and other electronic media. This change is driven by enterprise clients seeking a single repository/tool to manage all marketing efforts including print.EBOOKS
An electronic book (also e-book, eBook, digital book) is a text- and image-based publication in digital form produced on, published by, and readable on computers or other digital devices.
Sometimes the equivalent of a conventional printed book, e-books can also be born digital. The Oxford Dictionary of English defines the e-book as “an electronic version of a printed book,” but e-books can and do exist without any printed equivalent. E-books are usually read on dedicated hardware devices known as e-Readers or e-book devices. Personal computers and some cell phones can also be used to read e-books.Advantages
Availability – There are over 2 million free books available for download as of August 2009. Mobile availability of e-books may be provided for users with a mobile data connection, so that these e-books need not be stored on the device. An e-book can be offered indefinitely, without ever going “out of print”. Portability and Storage – In the space that a comparably sized print book takes up, an e-reader can potentially contain thousands of e-books, limited only by its memory capacity. If space is at a premium, such as in a backpack or at home, it can be an advantage that an e-book collection takes up little room or weight. Language Accessibility – E-book websites can include the ability to translate books into many different languages, making the works available to speakers of languages not covered by printed translations. E-Reader Attributes – Depending on the device, an e-book may be readable in low light or even total darkness. Many newer readers have the ability to display motion, enlarge or change fonts, use Text-to-speech software to read the text aloud, search for key terms, find definitions, or allow highlighting book marking and annotation. Devices that utilize E Ink can imitate the look and ease of readability of a printed work while consuming very little power, allowing continuous reading for weeks at time. Costs – While an e-book reader costs much more than one book; the electronic texts are generally cheaper. Moreover, a great share of books are available free of charge. For example, all fiction from before the year 1900 is in the public domain. Also, libraries lend more current e-book titles for limited times, free samples are available of many publications, and there are other lending models being piloted as well. E-books can be printed for less than the price of traditional new books using new on-demand book printers. Security – Depending on possible digital rights management, e-books can be backed up to recover them in the case of loss or damage and it may be possible to recover a new copy without cost from the distributor. Distribution – Compared to printed publishing, it is cheaper and easier for authors to self-publish e-books. Also, the dispersal of a free e-book copy can stimulate the sales of the printed version. Availability – An e-book can be purchased/borrowed, downloaded, and used immediately, whereas when one buys or borrows a book, one has to go to a bookshop or library during limited hours, or wait for a delivery. Environmental Concerns – The production of e-books does not consume paper, ink, etc. Printed books use 3 times more raw materials and 78 times more water to produce albeit they do not require a machine for use.Talk to us
